Primary

Strong foundations. Growing possibilities.

Six years of learning bring new knowledge, greater confidence and a growing ability to work independently. Reading, communication and mathematical understanding provide foundations for the journey ahead.

UNDERSTANDING THE STAGE

From first skills to new connections.

Primary is a time to develop fluent reading, clear expression and a secure understanding of number. As learning progresses, children begin using these skills to investigate questions and explain how they reached an answer.

Learning habits develop alongside academic understanding. Listening to other viewpoints, contributing to a shared task and responding to feedback all help children take a more active part in school life.

Primary 1–6 forms the first six years of Egypt’s basic education pathway. The school can confirm current subjects, language arrangements and transfer requirements.

SCHOOL & HOME

Supporting your child.

A steady routine and an interest in what your child is learning can make a useful difference.

  1. Make time for reading and a conversation about the text.
  2. Ask ‘How did you work that out?’ and allow your child time to explain.
  3. Review tasks together while encouraging your child to do the thinking and work.

Growing towards Preparatory.

More independent reading, organisation and the confidence to ask for help support the move to Preparatory. Speak with OLS about progression and the next stage.
